Wind Tower Construction

Schwager Davis, Inc. helped erect one of the largest land-based wind turbines ever built in the United States, located in Adam’s County, Iowa. This turbine is a prototype that will allow MidAmerican Energy to evaluate the amount of additional wind energy that can be generated at higher altitudes. With blades extended, the turbine reaches an impressive 557 feet tall. SDI was awarded a contract to fabricate, install, and stress all the required post-tensioned tendons.
